Thanks to Ralph, Vince, Steve, Lynn and Kris W. for making Civil War Day at Placerita Jr. High School on May 7 a success, earning a substanital sum for the unit. Company C and the WCAR were the only groups invited to attend this educational event and juding by all of the comments received from the coordinator and teachers, we will be back next year!
The next event is Fairview Park in Costa Mesa on May 15 & 16. This is a small event and was a late addition to the schedule. Also, the Pierce College event in Woodland Hills on June 12 & 13 was a late addition. Captain Harrington has sent out several e-mails on these events with more detailed information.
Company C has another school event that was just confirmed; Izaak Walton Intermediate School in Garden Grove. Captain Harrington will be sending out more information via e-mail. This event is on a Friday, June 4, so anyone interested should make approporiate plans. If you can attend, great. However, if you are not sure, please don't say you will be in attendance, as the schools provide food and drinks and those that do attend need to plan the program accordingly.
Also, the following shows the number of visitors to our website since 2006. In the last three years, we are close to averaging nearly 4,000 visitors each year - now we just need some more recruits!
