Company C, 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, Duryee's Zouaves is a Living History Organization started in 1996 and is dedicated to preserving the history of one of the most renowned fighting regiments of the American Civil War, wearing the distinctive Zouave uniform made famous by the Regiment from 1861 to 1863. Orange Counties. The members pay tribute to the original veterans and their sacrifice to our country. We welcome you to tour our website and to join our ranks for a historically accurate experience of history, esprit de corp and fun!
In addition to the 5th New York, our organization includes the Women's Central Association of Relief (WCAR), a group dedicated to accurate portrayal of a civilian relief organization during the Civil War.
